Rising to the occasion, retired Navy vet Jerry Cummins lifts off in The Spirit of Walla Walla shortly after sunrise in his U.S. flag-draped hot air balloon following the previous night's announcement of Osama Bin Laden's death. Cummins said the flag was handed to him by an Army veteran to carry up as the flag had flown for more than a year in Afghanistan.
