WALLA WALLA - The Eastmont Wildcats left Walla Walla with their second Columbia Basin Big Nine boys tennis loss of the season after the Blue Devils scratched out a 6-1 win at the Walla Walla Country Club tennis courts on Satruday.
With another win in the CBL, Wa-Hi improved its season record to 9-1, the program's best record since the late 1990s.
Only Wa-Hi' Blake Rowley, in No. 2 singles, was pushed by his opponent before downing Devon Erho, 7-5, 6-2, while Cam Davis, Kevin Leier and Jack Crouter easily won their matches.
Ruben Kuznetsov and Blake Rowley faced the top two Wildcats on their singles ladder as they are preparing for district doubles play.
"We're really playing some great team tennis at just the right time leading into postseason play on May 14-16 in Yakima," said Wa-Hi coach Ted Cummings.
Wa-Hi next hosts Hermiston at 3 p.m. Tuesday and then undefeated Wenatchee at noon Saturday.
