Big Asotin innings lead to Panthers' sweep of Dayton, 9-1 and 9-3

ASOTIN - Dayton ran into some stellar pitching in the opener, and suffered bad innings in the field in both games, as Asotin took two Southeast 2B baseball games from the Bulldogs, 9-1 and 9-3, Tuesday.

"He's probably the best pitcher we've seen all year," Dayton coach Sal Benavides said of the Panthers' starter in game one.

Asotin had four its nine hits and scored six runs in the fifth inning of the opener, and had six hits in the third inning of the nightcap to score six runs in that victory.

"They did all the damage in those two innings," Benavides said.

Dayton's Riley Stevens had a single, doubl and home run to highlight the Bulldogs' offense, Benavides said.

Dayton, now 2-8 in league, hosts Liberty Christian at 2 p.m. Saturday.
