Tickets are now available for the 29th Annual Walla Walla Valley Youth Baseball and Softball Association (WWVYBSA) Dinner and Auction on May 21.
A cocktail hour and silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m., at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds Community Building.
This annual event raises funds for youth baseball and softball leagues throughout the Walla Walla Valley. This year's auction is catered by Marty Bray of Chef's Creation and features a gourmet barbeque spread and local fare. WWVYBSA has partnered with Precept Brands to offer two complimentary glasses of wine to all guests.
The guest speaker at this year's event is former San Francisco Giants outfielder Martin Benard. Benard had a storied career with the Giants and won many awards over his tenure with the team.
A graduate of Lewis & Clark State College, Benard now lives in the Tri-Cities, where he is heavily involved in youth athletics throughout the Mid-Columbia region.
The live auction features items such as a week-long trip for eight to a home in Provence, France; Drew Bledsoe memorabilia and wine; trips to locations throughout the Pacific Northwest; Seattle Mariners' CEO Howard Lincoln's tickets to a Mariners game; Jeffrey Hill artwork; Walla Walla wines and more.
Tickets are available for $30 each and can be purchased at Cummins Athletic Supply, through local American Legion, Babe Ruth, Black Sox teams, Blue Mountain Girls Softball Association Teams or by contacting Steve Jordan at 509-525-0371 or Michael Mettler at 509-529-5525.
