Indians' baseball rally falls short in 4-3 loss to Waitsburg-Prescott


PRESCOTT - Touchet rallied for a tie, but was unable to grab the win in a 4-3 nonleague baseball loss to Waitsburg-Prescott here Thursday.

W-Ps's Matt Hamilton allowed the Indians just four hits in the win, while Dalton Estes had three hits and four steals.

Touchet led 2-1 through the top of the sixth, but W-P scored two in the bottom of the stanza for a 3-2 lead.

Touchet scored again at the top of the seventh, but W-P rallied, loading the bases with one out, and David Brock hit a hard shot to the Indians shortstop, who was unable to handle the ball, allowing W-P to score the go-ahead run for the win.

W-P improves to 6-7 with the nonleague win.

The Indians are 5-11 overall.

The teams conclude the home-and-home series at 4 p.m. Monday at Touchet.
