WALLA WALLA - Wa-Hi's boys golfers topped Pendleton in a cross-border dual at Veterans Memorial Golf Course Thursday.

Wa-Hi won with 322, while Pendleton carded a 347.

But two Pendleton golfers tied for medalist. Calvin Baty and Walker Hoolehan carded 75s on the par-72 course.

"We finally had somewhat-decent weather," said Wa-Hi coach Jim Smith. "It didn't rain. We went from sunshine when we started, thinking ‘This should be OK,' to clouds, but it was one of the better days for a match."

Dean Atkinson carded a 76, Nick Atwood had an 81, Jeremiah Mason had an 82, Travis Morrison had an 83 and Gunnar Leighty had a non-counting 85 for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils next travel to Spokane Monday for the Inland Empire Tournament at the Spokane Country Club. The tournament will include most of the Spokane schools and all of the 3A and 4A Big Nine schools.
