DAYTON - The host Bulldogs dropped both ends of a Southeast 2B District 9 baseball doubleheader to Liberty Christian, 13-1 and 14-2, here Saturday.
Dayton finished league play at 2-10 and will take a 4-14 overall record to Asotin for a loser-out playoff game at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Dayton trailed 5-1 after five innings of the opener before a quartet of both walks and hit batsmen led to eight Patriot runs in the sixth, according to coach Sal Benavides.
LC led 7-0 after two-and-a-half innings of the nightcap and coasted to another easy win.
Both games - the first after six innings and the second after five frames - were called due to the mercy rule.
Lowden Smith had two hits in the first game and Riley Stevens collected an equal number in game two for Dayton.
