MILTON-FREEWATER -- The Oregon Child Development Coalition will host a 40-year anniversary celebration luncheon here on May 18, noon to 2 p.m., highlighting the center's "Windows to the Community -- Past, Present and Future" project.
The Milton-Freewater center serves 194 children in 130 families and employs 78 people, according to its press release.
During the luncheon the coalition will highlight community partners in a video presentation, demonstrating how much a county can do in a rural area with limited resources. The event is open to the public and located at 109 N. E. Fifth Ave.
OCDC specializes in providing early childhood education and care for children up to age 5 who come from families with incomes below or at poverty level, and also get more than half their income from agricultural work.
