IRRIGON - Weston-McEwen got the offense it was looking for in a 12-3 Special District 5 win over Irrigon here Tuesday.

"We finally came out and had the game we needed with 13 hits," TigerScots coach Jeff Griggs said. "A lot of the balls we contacted we hit hard. We were tuned in from the beginning.

"Our defense showed up as well.

"We only scored one run in each of the games at Heppner, so to get them (Irrigon) 12-3 was a good adjustment."

The TigerScots, now 6-3 in league and 13-6 overall, are firmly in second place and host first-place Pilot Rock at 11 a.m. Saturday. The district tournament is the next weekend.
