WALLA WALLA - Wa-Hi's boys tennis team earned honors at its awards dessert Thursday.
The boys team earned the Outstanding Scholastic Team Award (between 3.5 and 4.0 GPA) with an average of 3.513.
Four-year varsity letter winners were seniors Jack Crouter, Kevin Leier and Cameron Davis.
Most Valuable Player went to Davis (who also was selected first-team all-Big Nine Conference by coaches of the league); Inspirational Player was Brendan McKinney; and Most Improved was Josh Kuznetsov. Team Captains Award went to Davis and Crouter.
Other all-league selections were honorable mentions to Leier and Crouter.
At last Monday's district seeding meeting, Davis was seeded No. 2 in the 28-entrant draw. The top three players advance from district to regional play May 21 in Wenatchee. Davis earned that seed with a 9-1 Big Nine record in the No. 1 singles slot for the Blue Devils.
Also seeded for Wa-Hi were the doubles team of Blake Rowley-Ruben Kuznetsov in the doubles draw.
District play starts Saturday in Yakima with the doubles event at Davis High and singles play at Franklin Park.
