WALLA WALLA - Unity Church of Peace, 810 C St., will hold a special service Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Rev. Joy Kachel will speak on "midwifing a whale: re-birthing the self."
Kachel will describe her transformative once-in-a-lifetime experience of midwifing a 45-foot gray whale in Baja California. She will show slides, tell stories and read some poems she wrote about this miraculous event.
The church will also hold a special pet blessing at 10 a.m. Sunday. Shirley Scott will lead the service. Scott is an authority on pet behavior and emotions, and has a special ability to communicate with animals.
Pets on a leash or in a cage are welcome to attend with their human companions. For more information, call 520-1915.
