The United States Postal Service has a message to deliver to small businesses about direct mail services.

The local branch is inviting small-business operators to a one-hour workshop Monday called "Grow Your Business Day." The event is intended to help entrepreneurs and proprietors promote their operations through direct mail -- minus the costs of mailing lists or permits.

According to an announcement, the "Every Door Direct Mail" service is the first in a series of U.S. Postal Service initiatives designed to make business mail services more efficient and affordable.

The presentation starts at 7 p.m. at the Walla Walla Post Office, 128 N. Second Ave. The presentation will demonstrate the ease of selecting a campaign message, target an audience and prepare mailings. The information will include details for do-it-yourselfers as well as those using mailing house vendors.

Seating is limited. Register at usps.com/growyourbusinessdays.
