STANFIELD - Weston-McEwen was mauled by Stanfield, 13-2, in the district title baseball game Saturday.
The TigerScots made 13 errors and gave up the 13 runs on 14 hits.
"We definitely didn't play good baseball today," said W-M coach T.J. Haguewood said. "Defensively, we broke down and didn't play well. When you have the league player of the year throwing against you, you gotta play some solid defense and good baseball.
"We didn't play very well today but the playoffs are Wednesday. Everybody starts at 0-0 and it is the first time in 14 or 15 years, we placed in the districts. We placed second, so I'm proud of the boys. But we've got to come back after it in our state playoffs game next Wednesday."
The TigerScots are in the final 16, single-elimination state tournament. Rankings and first-round opponents will be released today.
