A local U.S. Army Corps of Engineers worker was decorated Sunday during an awards ceremony at the Afghanistan Engineer District-North's Qalaa House Compound in Afghanistan.
Bruce Collison received an Achievement Award for Civilian Service, Global War on Terrorism Civilian Service Department of Defense Medal and NATO Medal. Collison worked as a project manager from Nov. 1, 2010, to Sunday. He was instrumental in developing standards and procedures for contract terminations while simultaneously preparing five contracts for termination, according to a news release.
