Carlin leads W-M athletes at state meet

MONMOUTH, Ore. - Six Weston-McEwen athletes represented the TigerScots at the Oregon state Class 2A state track and field championships last Saturday.

A Union-Bulletin story Monday listed Weston-McEwen's finishes from last season's state meet.

On Saturday, McKayla Carlin had the highest finish, leaping 31 feet, 9 inches in the triple jump for sixth place.

Carlin was ninth in the long jump at 14-07.5, Jaymie Zimmerman was seventh in the discus at 105-09 and Makayla Chistopher was seventh in the javelin at 105-08.

On the track side, Betsy West finished seventh in the 400 in 1:04.83 and Kaitlyn Gilmore was ninth in the 300 hurdles in 54.9.

Tyler Holland was the lone TigerScots boy at state. He competed but did not place in the high jump.
