Long time Walla Walla resident Olive N. (Stump) Wahl, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 24, 2011. Olive was born in Benton City, Wash., April 23, 1922, to Leonard and Lydia Clayton. Olive was born into a family with three brothers and three sisters. Her mother passed early in life and Olive became the cook for the family on the family farm in Benton City.
Olive married Lester Stump and they had three boys, Jerry (Donna) Stump, Kenneth (Rosette) Stump, and Michael (Rhonda) Stump. Olive was widowed in 1961. Olive's experience as a cook provided her with the skills to gain employment and provide for her boys. She spent a number of years raising her three sons and later married her friend and companion Alvin Wahl in July 1980. Alvin unexpectedly passed the week following Olive's death.
Olive worked as a breakfast cook for many years; she retired from Mr. Eds in 1990.
Olive is survived by one sister, Laree Bro; sons, Kenneth and Michael; various grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery on Friday, May 27, at 11 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tim Bruner of New Beginnings Chapel.
In lieu of flowers to honor Olive, the family would appreciate contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Walla Walla Hospice.
