Two injured in US 12 wreck

WALLA WALLA -- A two-vehicle collision Monday left two women in the hospital after the Toyota Prius they were in reportedly pulled in front of a Ford pickup on U.S. Highway 12.

Victoria Holder, 20, of Walnut, Calif., was driving north on Heritage Road when she pulled in front of the wesbound pickup driven by Kolby Shafer of Marlin, Wash., at 3:37 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol reports.

Holder was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Her passenger, Abigal L. Salzer, 20, of New York City was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with internal injuries, including broken ribs and pelvis.

As of this morning, Salzer is in intensive care in stable condition. Shafer and a passenger were not injured, according to WSP. Both vehicles were totaled, and the investigation continues.
