Garfield County Commissioners are Dean Burton, Wynne McCabe and Robert Johnson. With all present Monday commissioners:
- SENIOR INFORMATION: Decided to submit proposed $99,000 budget for Senior Information and Assistance to the Aging and Long Term Care agency in Yakima. ALTC will contribute $72,881, and the county will make up the difference. However, commissioners have not determined what they will actually be able to contribute. Unanimous.
- OPEN HOUSE: Learned there will be an open house Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center, sponsored by the Senior Information and Assistance program. The purpose of the open house is to showcase services available through the program, including home health care and assistance devices for loan.
- AGREEMENT: Learned from county employees group representative Steve Krause, that employees had agreed to the proposal from the county for a 2 percent wage increase for all county employees, and payment by the county of a $67 increase in medical insurance.
- FINANCE: Met as the finance committee with county treasurer Karen Roosevelt and county auditor Donna Deal. Roosevelt told commissioners interest currently being paid on $11.3 million in county funds is .1338 percent.
