Walla Walla crews start fall leaf pickup

WALLA WALLA -- City crews began their fall leaf pickup this week, and are now in neighborhoods that have Wednesday garbage routes.

Along with the leaf pickup, residents have two new options for leaf disposal this season, with the addition of free leaf drop boxes at Pioneer and Howard Tietan parks from Nov. 15 to Dec. 3.

The drop boxes are part of a pilot program by the city; no bagged leaves or other refuse will be accepted.

Residents with a curbside green waste bin can continue to set out their container on their regular pick up day through the end of November at the standard monthly rate of $15.71.
