WALLA WALLA - Jaclyn Rudd, a junior midfielder on the Whitman College women's soccer team, has been named Northwest Conference Student Athlete of the Week for women's soccer on offense.
Rudd, a two-year team captain, collected this week's award after booting four goals in two games last weekend.
Rudd, who started the weekend with an NWC-leading six assists on the season, blitzed Lewis & Clark on Saturday with her first career hat trick as part of a 4-0 Whitman victory.
Rudd added a fourth goal on Sunday, converting a penalty kick in the 82nd minute that triggered a late Whitman rally against first-place Linfield that fell short in a 2-1 loss.
Whitman wraps up its 2011 season Saturday with a noon game at Willamette.
