Cordell and Virginia Baker of Walla Walla will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a 2-4 p.m. open house Saturday at 528 Quarter St.
The event will be hosted by their daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Dan Counts of Walla Walla, and Marsha and Rick Iddings of Clarkston. Family and friends are invited.
The Bakers met and were married Nov. 11, 1960, at a church in Ames, Iowa. Virginia's maiden name is Biddison.
Cordell retired in 1995 after serving as a pastor for 44 years in Baptist churches in Worthington, Ind.; Bridgeport, Ellensburg and Bellingham, Wash.; and Tooele, Utah. He enjoys writing, music and watching sports, including Washington State University's Cougars.
A homemaker and active, supportive pastor's wife, Virginia also was a licensed practical nurse in the 1960s. She enjoys reading, puzzles, and games.
