LETTERS TO THE EDITOR - Collaboration at WWCC impressive

My husband and I attended the Walla Walla Community College's "Return to the River Salmon Festival" recently.

We enjoyed learning about the natural resources and salmon recovery efforts from the different representatives and their displays. The Confederated Tribes dancing was beautiful and the salmon dinner tasty.

What an impressive collaboration it represented. The new water and environment center offers a new ecological course of study to our community college's program and degrees.

It is amazing to witness the possibilities of what can happen when people work together: The U.S. Department of Commerce, Walla Walla County, the Port of Walla Walla, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Pacific Power, Blue Sky Renewable Energy Program and, of course, our own Walla Walla Community College.

Little wonder that our school is competing for the best junior college in the country!
