Walla Walla seems to be well on its way to becoming a star on the list of great places to visit in the Northwest.
That's because we have citizens who care and are willing to work to make it happen. We all very much appreciate the fine results though some of us are negligent in voicing that appreciation.
That's me! I love Walla Walla and I appreciate all of you "doers" so much. As I go about my business I hear new pride and excitement in people's voices when they speak of Walla Walla.
We have visiting friends who rave about the charm of the town and of the innovative ideas coming to life. The old powerhouse transformed into a Shakespearian theater, for instance.
So, it is with love that I wish to add my name to the list of people who are so wanting a public swimming pool. It needn't be a grandiose development that puts taxpayers on the defense but we do need a summer cooling place for kids and families.
Some of my dearest friends I met at our public pool 50 years ago. In my opinion it is a bare necessity in many, many ways. I would be willing to help in any way I can.
