WALLA WALLA - NWAACC Eastern Region champion Walla Walla Community College ended the 2011 regular season with a 2-2 tie against visiting Wenatchee Valley in a collegiate men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.
The Warriors, No. 3 in the final NWAACC coaches poll, concluded league play 9-1-3 and will advance to quarterfinal playoff action next weekend at home with a 12-2-3 mark overall.
Wenatchee Valley scored first on a penalty kick by Mauricio Lopez in the 12th minute of play.
WWCC equalized in the 30th minute when a right-side cross by Colten Sullivan found the boot of teammate Jonathan Rodriguez at point-blank range.
Walla Walla took its only lead in the 32nd minute when Perry McNamar banged home a penalty kick.
The score held at 2-1 until the 87th minute when the Knights' Juan Arroyo drilled the game-tying tally from the top of the 18.
WWCC went 11-1-3 in its last 15 matches of the regular season.
Saturday's match was the final regular-season home tilt for Warrior sophomores Josh Lindsey, Rene Saldana, Mikey Luhrs, Erik Vaught, Martin Ramirez, Tony Garey, Emmanuel Martinez, Charlie Redline, and L. Poeppel.
