Oct. 15, 1927 - Oct. 6, 2011
Patti Jeanne (Turnbow) Hadland was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Walla Walla, to Helen (Teal) and Neal Turnbow and passed away on Oct. 6, 2011, in Walla Walla, at the age of 83.
As a child, she loved music, giving her first piano recital at the age of 8. She also enjoyed several tap dance recitals as well. Patti was a gifted seamstress, often sewing shirts and dresses for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, especially proud of her roses. Patti was a Little League and Babe Ruth coach for her sons. She collected NASCAR racing memorabilia and looked forward to Sunday outings at her daughter's home, where she participated in fantasy football. Her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Every year she painted a handmade ornament for each grandchild. Her children looked forward to the box of decorated sugar cookies she made for them. Patti was a member of Central Christian Church and a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.
Patti is survived by her brother, Tom Turnbow; eight children, Norene Tate of Athena, Teresa Rothwell and Bill Fisher of Waitsburg, Vickie Staples of Liberty Lake, Wash., Dan Fisher of Potlach, Idaho, Patti Record and Janice Watson of Walla Walla, Gwyn Biegel of Dayton; 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Patti was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at Central Christian Church on Saturday Nov. 12, 2011, at 2:30 p.m.
We invite all family and friends to attend.
