  • Fernando J. Ramos, 41, 1620 Stuart St., was charged Nov. 8 with harassment. Ramos is accused of knowingly and unlawfully threatening to kill a person on Aug. 26.
  • Jonathan M. Marquez, 26, 1115 W. Pine St., was charged Nov. 8 with intimidating a public servant and first-degree driving while license suspended or revoked. Marquez is accused of threatening harm to a law enforcement officer and his family Nov. 7, and operating a vehicle Nov. 7 after having been found to be a habitual traffic offender.
  • Julie F. McGinley, 38, Lakewood, Wash., was charged Nov. 8 with violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional institution by a person not a prisoner. McGinley is accused of unlawfully delivering marijuana, and knowingly possessing or controlling marijuana at the Washington State Penitentiary on Nov. 7.
  • Javier O. Velasquez, 20, 86 Harrison Place, Burbank, was sentenced Nov. 7 on one count second-degree taking a motor vehicle without permission. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $102.60 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $100 biological fee, 27 days in the county jail, credit for 27 days served. On Oct. 27 Valasquez pleaded guilty to riding in a vehicle knowing it was taken without the owner's permission on Sept. 15.
  • Gerald C. Gonzalez, 18, 119 E. Sumach St., was sentenced Nov. 7 on one count each second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act-possession of cocaine. The court dismissed two other counts. The sentence included restitution to be determined, $200 in court costs, $100 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 crime lab and biological fee, 180 days in the county jail, credit for 18 days served, 12 months community custody. On Nov. 1 Gonzalez pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a firearm and cocaine on Aug. 28.
  • Ralph Smith, 56, 612 S. 12th Ave., was sentenced Nov. 7 on one count each violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act-complicity to delivery of hydrocodone and violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act-delivery of cocaine. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $119 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, $500 drug enforcement fund, $100 biological fee, 20 months in the custody of the Department of Corrections, credit for 20 days served, 12 months community custody. Smith pleaded guilty to aiding in the delivery of hydrocodone on Jan. 12, 2010, and to delivering cocaine on Jan. 19, 2010.
  • Paul E. Cardenas, 49, 516 N. Division St. was sentenced Nov. 3 on one count disorderly conduct. The sentence included $200 in court costs, $63.40 in sheriff fees, $500 to the crime victims compensation fund, $775 in attorney fees, 90 days in the county jail, credit for 74 days served, six months probation. On Nov. 3 Cardenas pleaded guilty to using abusive language toward two persons, intentionally creating a risk of assault on June 12.
