Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers
Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include pool and cards from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A complete listing of current center activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in the center's monthly newsletter. The annual center membership fee, $12 per person, includes a subscription to it. Spanish is spoken at the Center. Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information call Mike Johnson at 527-0771.
Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Center. For more information call 527-3775. Bread and milk are served with all meals. A vegetarian option and salad bar are available Monday-Friday. The menu this week is:
Monday: Beef stew, Waldorf salad, fruit juice, corn bread, peaches and cookie.
Tuesday: Beef stuffed baked potatoes, Scandinavian mix, fruit juice or salad, bread, applesauce.
Wednesday: Haystacks, Mandarin orange Jell-O salad, corn bread, pumpkin squares.
Thursday: Salisbury steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, roll, fruited Jell-O.
Friday: Turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bead, pumpkin squares.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg on Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals are available. Questions: call 527-3775
Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:
Tuesday: Taco salad with chips, cheese, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, refried beans, beef; corn, fruit cup, spice cake.
Friday: Roast pork with gravy, whipped potatoes, layered pea salad, applesauce, hot roll, cherry crisp.
The menu for Weston is:
Wednesday: Roast turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli, cranberry salad, hot rolls, pumpkin dessert.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Community Building, 109 N.E. Fifth Ave. Hot rolls and milk are served with every meal. The suggested donation is $3.50. The menu this week is:
Thursday: Roast turkey and dressing, gravy, potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, homemade pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
