Walla Wallans Bill and Rosemary Lloyd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 2.
The couple met while working in the Denny Building in downtown Walla Walla, although they knew one another years earlier when they were cheer leaders at Walla Walla High School.
They married Nov. 2, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene. Rosemary's maiden name is Board.
Bill owned Lloyd's Insurance and Real Estate. He retired in 1985. He is a member of Rotary Club and Retired Officer's Association Chapter 21, an active YMCA member and past board member and a retired owner and pilot of various hot air balloons.
A homemaker, Rosemary raised four children. She worked part time for many years at the Walla Walla County Courthouse during election season.
She is a past member of PEO and the YMCA. She enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball and downhill skiing. She enjoys music.
The Lloyds are co-founders of the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede. Together they spent many weekends and family summer vacations boating and camping and have traveled extensively abroad and within the U.S.
They attend the Walla Walla Symphony and are members of the Walla Walla Country Club.
They have three daughters, Cyndra VanDonge of Walla Walla, Melissa Lloyd of Vancouver, Wash., and Jenny Charlo of Clarkston; a son, Steve Lloyd of Seattle; and seven grandchildren.
