WALLA WALLA -- Construction on the new emergency center at Walla Walla General Hospital is under way, resulting in some changes to how patients access hospital services.
Starting Thursday, the emergency department entrance and waiting room will close as construction begins on that area, although complete services will continue in the emergency room, hospital officials said.
During this time, patients and the ambulance service can access emergency services through a temporary covered entrance at the corner of the building, just up from the former entrance.
It will be clearly identified as the "ER" entrance and signs inside will direct patients down the hall to the appropriate registration area.
Patients for outpatient radiology services will register just off the main lobby and should enter through the main entrance, rather than what used to be the emergency medicine entrance.
