Walla Walla does not have an organized art cooperative, which makes it challenging for emerging and established artists to bring their work to the public.
What we do have are a number of forward-thinking businesses that recognize the value of promoting local artists, both culturally and economically. I would like to acknowledge the businesses that helped me "emerge" this year -- the Walla Walla YMCA, CarpetOne, DeBouche and Coffee Perk.
Each of these businesses is unique, but each had walls to share. When local businesses support local artists everyone wins.
