Robert Owen "Bob" Armstrong, 58, died of heart complications Oct. 3, 2011, in Dayton, Wyo., while visiting his mother. Bob lived in Walla Walla at the VA housing for over two years.
Bob was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Kennewick. He moved to Juneau, Alaska, in 1968, graduating from Juneau Douglas High School in 1971. He joined the Army right after he graduated, He graduated at the top of his class and became an Army instructor at Fort Hauchuca, Ariz.
Bob did a lot of volunteer work with the Little League and did tutoring. He also did volunteer work with seniors.
Bob is survived by his son, Justin Armstrong, Grass Valley, Calif.; mother, Helen Taylor and step-father, Clark Taylor, Dayton, Wyo.; father, Bob Armstrong and step-mother, Jo Armstrong, Kennewick; two brothers, Lee (Vicky), Juneau, Alaska, Ralph (Rowdy) Dilia; nephew, Christen Armstrong, Virginia Beach, Va.; two step-brothers, Jack Prescott, Jamesport, Mo., Kurtis Prescott, Jefferson, Iowa.
Some of you may have known Bob as Rob or Robin. Bob made many friends in the Walla Walla area. He will be missed by all.
