WALLA WALLA - "Almost, Maine," a play by John Cariana, opens Nov. 25 with curtain at 7 p.m. in the Walla Walla Community College China Pavilion, 500 Tausick Way.

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine, according to WWCC's website.

As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.

Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal and the hearts mend - almost - in this delightful midwinter night's dream.

Performances at 7 p.m. are scheduled for Nov. 26 and Dec. 1, 2 and 3. Matinees at 2 p.m. will be Nov. 27 and Dec. 4. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students and are available at the door one hour before curtain or at the WWCC Bookstore weekdays, 8-4 p.m. Info: 527-4575.
