Handcox leads Wa-Hi with Big Nine football honors

WALLA WALLA - Wa-Hi's Moe Handcox raked in Columbia Basin-Big Nine football honors following the season.

Handcox earned second-team at defensive back, wide receiver and on the kickoff and punt return teams.

Second-team honors also went to Blue Devil teammates Jeremy Larson on the offensive line, and running back Jonah Hoe.

Honorable mention went to defensive back Blake Rowley, defensive linemen Logan Reardon and Rob Ferenz, linebackers Kyle Jameson, Paul Trapani and Stuart Gillin, and kicker Dean Atkinson.

Reardon also earned honorable mention on the offensive line.

The Blue Devils named Hoe the team's Offensive MVP, a captain and Most Inspirational player.

Rowley earned Defensive MVP, and Jeremy Larson Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Handcox was also named team captain.

Wa-Hi team records were tied or broken by Handcox, with most touchdowns in a game at three, and in a career at 19; Atkinson tied for most field goals in a game at three; and Hoe had most rushing yards in a 10-game schedule with 1,473 and total offense for the season at 1,588.
