Lillie Rice Center wins federal janitorial, maintenance contract

WALLA WALLA -- A local agency that serves adults living with disabilities has been awarded a federal contract.

Walla Walla's Lillie Rice Center will receive $394,498 over a five-year span to provide janitorial and grounds maintenance services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at its Mill Creek office, Bennington Lake and Rooks Park.

The nonprofit Lillie Rice Center serves about 80 adults with significant disabilites through sheltered workshops and outdoor work, noted Chris Daudt, executive director. "This contract will allow us to employ more people. We're fortunate to acquire this partnership."
