WALLA WALLA -- There have been no new developments to report in an investigation involving the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office.
Frank Harrill, FBI supervising senior agent in Spokane, said in an email he had no information to release on the investigation into possible financial improprieties at the Sheriff's Office.
The investigation began in October 2009 when then-Sheriff Mike Humphreys requested the Washington State Patrol look into the matter.
Officials have said the investigation has focused on an individual, but requests for further information have been denied on the grounds the matter is still under investigation.
Along with the WSP and the state Auditor's Office, the FBI's Spokane Field Office also became involved earlier this year. WSP and the Auditor's Office have deferred comment to the FBI.
