WWCC manhandles Portland at Turkey Shoot, 88-58

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. - The Walla Walla Community College men's basketball team manhandled Portland, 88-58, to open the Skagit Valley College Turkey Shoot here Friday.

Jay Payne's 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, led the Warriors to the victory.

Mac Stannard added 21, Dylan Radliff 19 and Michael Crane had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Walla Walla raced to a 37-21 halftime lead and never looked back

The Warriors beat Green River 90-61 Saturday night and face Clackamas for the tournament title today at 3 p.m.

"Defense and our hustle - that's how we're winning," WWCC coach Jeff Reinland said after Saturday's win. "We're playing well together. We got up by as many as 33 in the second half (against Green River).
