According to several outlets, Washington State has offered former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach the head football coach position at WSU, and Leach has verbally accepted.
This comes one day after the official announcement by Athletic Director Bill Moos that former coach Paul Wulff was let go.
Wulff finished his career with a 9-40 record and alienated much of the Cougar fanbase, but is largely given credit for rebuilding the program from the lows of 2008-2009.
Leach, on the other hand, had a 84-43 record at Texas Tech and the Red Raiders went to bowl games every season that he was the head coach at Tech.
Should Leach indeed agree to and accept the Cougars' offer, it will be a significant coups for Washington State, as he had been considered to be a candidate at many high profile universities such as Kentucky, UCLA and Arizona State.
