Vicki was born Aug. 15, 1943, to Manuel Martinez and Ruby Martinez Pargas in Greeley, Colo. She attended schools in Greeley and married Billy Trujillo on June 21, 1962. They made their home in Greeley until 1978, when they moved to Milton-Freewater. Vicki was a professional housekeeper in various elder care centers for many years. In the past few years, she became a private housekeeper for many wonderful people who became her close friends. She was highly recommended by word of mouth, because of her thoroughness and kindness. Vicki was an avid crafter who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. It gave her great pleasure to design and make keepsake blankets for all of her family and friends. She also had a very generous heart. She made hats and scarves for the homeless at the Christian Aid Center, as well as baby blankets for the Walla Walla General Hospital nursery. Vicki's faith was unfailing. She was an active member of the Valley Christian Center, where she participated in the prayer group. Her husband, family and friends were the biggest delights in her life. Her next favorite pastime was shopping - and more shopping! She always had Bill tag along, as they were seldom apart. She also delighted in watching "The Young and the Restless," having never missed an episode since the beginning. In the summer, she enjoyed gardening and loved any kind of flower.
She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Billy Trujillo; a daughter, Margaret Trujillo-Fazzari (Ed Fazzari); sons, Steven Trujillo (Celina Trujillo) and George Trujillo (Eugene Waliser); grandchildren, Ruby Trujillo, Kenneth Martinez, Chad Harshfield, Aly Fazzari, Marilyn Trujillo, Adrian Trujillo, Briana Waliser, and Cerra Gallaway; great-grandchildren, Calvin Lawrence, Alize Quigg, Aysia Quigg, Tregan Quigg, Brooklyn Quigg, Cody Boede, Angel Harshfield and Miley Harshfield; siblings, Jennie Martinez, Mary Pacheco, Jimmy Martinez, Cruz Alarcon, David Pargas (Lisa Pargas), Joe Pargas, Jr., Dee Johnson (Mark Johnson); sisters-in-law, Virgie De La Cruze (Antonio De La Cruz) and Pauline Torres; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Last but not least, she will be missed by her beloved pet schnauzer, Robbie. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; and youngest daughter, Marilyn Trujillo.
The family also wishes to express its appreciation to hospice, especially Linda Miller and Linda Walker, who took great care of Vicki during her final days.
