ENTERPRISE - The Mac-Hi boys and girls cross country teams performed well at the Enterprise Invitational here Saturday afternoon.
The boys finished second overall out of seven teams and the girls had four competitors finish the 5,000 meter race.
"A good performance on the boys side," Mac-Hi coach John Milleson said. "We were really happy with that performance. It was unbearably hot, even at 4,000 feet."
Leading the way for the Mac-Hi boys was Lucas Simpson, who finished fifth overall, with a time of 18 minutes, 43 seconds. Jesus Saldana finished ninth (19:25) and Andrew Kain got 17th (20:37).
Others finishing in the top half of the boys field, comprised of 60 participants, were Juan Diaz (25th, 21:28) and Abraham Garcia (28th, 21:53).
The top Mac-Hi girls harriers were Josie Lonai (fourth, 21:54) and Kristi Childers (14th, 25:27).
Rounding out the Mac-Hi girls finishers were Jackie Martinez (22nd, 29:57) and Saira Saustina (25th, 38:25).
