A chili feed and silent auction on Saturday is planned to help Todd Munden, the Lowden man who suffered second- and third-degree burns while burning yard debris at is home Sept. 2.
The fundraiser will help the family with living expenses and costs not covered by insurance. Munden is not expected to return to work for at least six months, organizers say.
The chili feed will be 4-8 p.m. at the Milton-Freewater Junior show Grounds on Highway 11, behind Bordertown Feed and Supply. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12, and free for younger children. Organizers are looking for more donations. Call Toni Alvarado-Jackson at 509-301-2919 or Carolyn Munden at 509-520-3043.
People also may send checks or supermarket gift cards to "Carolyn Munden for Todd Munden," 3226 Feedlot Lane, Touchet, WA 99360, or leave a cash donation at Tates Mercantile in Umapine, Sam's Corner Market in Milton-Freewater and L&G Ranch Supply in Walla Walla.
