Parks & Recreation offers classes for adults and kids

Walla Walla Parks & Recreation is offering several classes for adults and children in October.

Classes are held at Carnegie Center, 109 S. Palouse St. Pre-registration is required - visit www.wwpr.us. or the office at 55 Moore St. For more details call 527-4527 or email recreation@ci.walla-walla.wa.us.

Classes offered are:

  • Adult Creative Fiction Writing, today, Oct. 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 1, 6-8 p.m., $68 - For ages 16 and older, instructor Sarah Kokernot has designed the class for novice and seasoned fiction writers.
  • Vinyasa Yoga at Lunch, today, Oct. 11, 18, 25, 12:30-1:30 p.m, $34 - For ages 12 and older, instructor Anne Hair's classes are a practice of meditation in motion.
  • Imagination Yoga for Kids, Wednesday, Oct 12, 19, and 26, 5:45-6:30 p.m., $24 - For ages 3-12, Jennifer Matson, a certified Imagination Yoga instructor, will take children on grand adventures as they imagine yoga in a castle, on a farm, in outer space, with the dinosaurs and many other endeavors while learning poses, greater concentration, increased relaxation and body awareness.
  • Creative Art Journal for Kids, Oct.11, 4-6 p.m., $14 - For ages 8-12, instructor Jennifer Hilbert will teach children how to make a mixed-media journal in which to draw, write, imagine and experiment.
