Longtime Walla Walla resident, Ira J. Williams, 86, died October 4, 2011, at his home.
Ira was born January 15, 1925, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Glenn L. and
Alpha M. Daniels Williams. He attended public schools and received a bachelor's
degree from Behnke-Walker College in Portland, Oregon.

Ira served in the 100th Infantry Division of the US Army in France, Germany
and Austria during WWII. On September 26, 1943, he and Mary-Alice Muirhead
married in The Dalles, Oregon. They moved to the Walla Walla area in 1949 from The Dalles.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating and gardening at home. Ira was very proud of his three children
and their children, each one having great achievements of which he was proud.
Memberships included B.P.O.E. Lodge #287, Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, Walla Walla Kennel
Club, the American Legion, Walla Walla Junior Chamber of Commerce, Walla Walla Exchange Club, Blue Mountain
Masonic Lodge #13, Scottish Bodies of Walla Walla, Order of Amaranth and the First Baptist Church. He also served
as Campaign Chairman of the Walla Walla Community Chest Fund Drive.

Ira is survived by his daughter, Sherrill J. (Richard) Clark of Richland, Washington; two sons: Brian L. (Ladonna) Williams
of Pasco, Washington and Bruce G. (Mary) Williams of Walla Walla; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and
one nephew, Scott (Jenny) Eggers. He was preceded in death by his wife March 5, 2008; his parents and one sister.
At his request, there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made in Ira's memory to a charity of
donor's choice through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
