Maureta "Reta" Davis, 63, of Weston passed away Sept. 29, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, with Pastor Sam Boettcher officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Reta Davis to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Maureta "Reta" Davis was born on May 30, 1948, the daughter of Maurice Charles and Norma Marcella (Mullen) Teel in Pendleton, Ore. She grew up on Tollgate Mountain and attended Weston Schools. Reta graduated from Weston McEwen High School in 1966. On Sept. 21, 1966, two hearts joined when she married Jimmie Davis. Together the couple made their home in Weston and Reta began her banking career at Bank of
Commerce in Milton-Freewater. She worked at Bank of Commerce until it merged with Baker Boyer Bank. Reta was later transferred to Baker Boyer's main branch in Walla Walla, where she remained as its operations manager until her retirement in 2006. She was very active with the Weston Community Development Committee and the Weston-Athena Alumni Scholarship. She loved traveling, camping and riding quads. Her greatest joy was being "Grandma Weston" and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Surviors include her husband at the home; daughters, Tonya Humbert and Teresa Davis both of Milton-Freewater; eight grandchildren; brothers, Irvin Teel of Payette, Idaho, Gary Teel of Reno, Nev., and Tad Teel of Weston; and a sister, Naomi Teel of Richland, Ore.;
nephew, Jason Davis of Pendleton; niece, Jauna Davis of Milton-Freewater; and other relatives and friends.
Her parents; a baby boy, Jimmie Ray Davis, Jr; brother, Orlan Teel; and a sister, Janet Ritchie, all preceded er in death.
