County seeks applicants for Human Services Advisory Board


WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla County is seeking applicants for four openings on the Human Services Advisory Board.

The board assists the Department of Human Services in determining needs and setting priorities for services, and assists DHS in evaluating and monitoring the mental health, chemical dependency and developmental disabilities plans and service delivery.

Also, the board provides recommendations to DHS and county commissioners in each of the service delivery programs. Members should have some background, personal experience and/or knowledge in mental health, chemical dependency, and/or developmental disability issues.

At least one-quarter of the advisory board must be made up of those persons who have recovered from a chemical or alcohol dependency, so special emphasis will be made to identify and seat such.
