McKenna to speak at Early Learning Coalition luncheon


WALLA WALLA - State Attorney General Rob McKenna will be the keynote speaker of The Walla Walla Valley Early Learning Coalition's yearly "Our Kids: Our Business" luncheon.

The luncheon will be held Oct. 25 from 12-1 p.m. at the Reid Center Ballroom on the Whitman College campus.

Tickets are available for $40. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. the day of the luncheon and lecture. All proceeds from the luncheon go toward funding future coalition activities that benefit local children.

McKenna is currently serving his second term as the state's 17th attorney general. He is the 2011-12 president for the National Association of Attorneys General.

McKenna graduated from the University of Washington and the University of Chicago law school.

According to a news release, McKenna's ongoing priorities include making communities safer, protecting consumers and businesses, and promoting integrity in government.

McKenna supports the Eastside Domestic Violence Program, the Bellevue Schools Foundation, Boy Scouts of America and the Bellevue Community College Foundation. He lives in Bellevue with his wife and four children.

The mission of the Walla Walla Valley Early Learning Coalition is to mobilize the community to support parents as their children's first teacher and improve access to high-quality learning opportunities for all young children in the Walla Walla Valley.
