WALLA WALLA - WSU Extension in Walla Walla County is taking applications for its Master Gardener volunteer program.

You do not have to be a gardening expert to attend, just have the desire to learn and the ability to return volunteer service to the program. Volunteers receive horticulture training in exchange for 50 hours of volunteer service.

Training will be offered at the WSU Extension office Jan. 24-March 27. The training will be Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m.-noon. Trainees must also complete online training sessions. The fee is $150.

Applications are available at the Extension office, 328 W. Poplar St. Applications are due Nov. 1. Late applications will be considered if space is available.
