College Place resident, Iris H. Terry, 75, died October 6, 2011,
at Walla Walla General Hospital, 1025 S. 2nd Avenue, Walla Walla,
Washington. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18,
2011, at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, 12th and Larch
Streets, College Place. Pastor Steve Walikonis will officiate. Inurnment
will be in the Enterprise (Oregon) Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to Blue Mountain Television or a charity of donor's
choice through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551

Iris was born June 16, 1936, in Tarentum, Pennsylvania,
to Ira "Dutch" and Beulah Huey Rea. The family moved often.
Her schooling began in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, then
continued in Montana and Washington. Her mother passed
away in 1952, and Iris took care of the home for her father,
moving to Idaho, Oregon, California and Washington during
the years that followed.

On August 7, 1955, she married Lowell Allen in Baker City,
Oregon. A daughter, Lowella, was born in 1956 and son, Ray,
was born in 1958. Both children passed away after having
open heart surgery. They adopted a son, Larry Scott Allen,
when he was 4 years old. Her husband was killed in an accident
in the woods while working for the US Forest Service
in 1968. Iris moved to College Place and in November, 1969,
she and Bob Terry were married. They later divorced.
Iris loved reading, decorating her home, flowers, especially
roses, and volunteering for over 20 years at Walla Walla
General Hospital and the Village Church. She was a faithful
member of the Village Church.

Iris is survived by her son, Larry Terry of Walla Walla;
twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a host
of friends. She was also preceded in death by her father.
