Mac-Hi boys remain perfect after 9-0 romp over Bulldogs

MILTON-FREEWATER - Mac-Hi's boys continued their perfect soccer season with a 9-0 romp over Greater Oregon League foe Baker at Shockman Field Tuesday.

Alberto Sandoval, Neftali Cazarez and Alex Saldana all scored two goals in the shutout, with Juan Pablo Martinez, Christian Zaragoza and Sergio Alvarez each putting one ball in the net.

"The last time we played Baker, it was 2-0 (Mac-Hi victory)," Pioneers coach Jose Garcia said. "We knew we had to make some adjustments, and that worked well. We moved people around, and it paid off.

"It got a little physical at times, Baker got desperate," he said. "Overall, they're doing well. We can move the ball around a little more, and make decisions sooner. Once we're in the playoff it'll get tougher, so we can still make changes and improve a little more."

Mac-Hi, now 5-0 in GOL play and 7-0 overall, hosts Ontario at 2 p.m. Saturday.
