Visitors planning to swoop into Glencorrie winery this weekend will be helping support the Pioneer Park Aviary.

The Walla Walla winery, 8052 Old Highway 12, is raising money to help the continued operation of the aviary for next year.

All tasting fees collected between Friday and Sunday will be donated to the Friends of Pioneer Park Aviary.

In addition to that, the winery will donate $5 from every bottle sold over the weekend to the community group whose mission is finding long-term, sustainable funding for the aviary.

The operation was threatened by budget cuts earlier this year. Friends of Pioneer Park Aviary have raised money to help contribute to its continued existence.

The contributions and donations by Glencorrie this weekend come on the heels of similar support for Providence St. Mary Medical Center's "Special Needs Fund." The winery, owned by Ronn and Dean Coldiron, raised $250 during last month's Gran Fondo event for the hospital's cancer patients.
