WALLA WALLA -- Bank of America customers will lose their online access over the weekend as the company prepares to unveil an enhanced online banking site Monday, officials said.
The bank's site will be down from 7 p.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday for the installation of new software, according to reports. Washington and Idaho customers will not have access to mobile, text banking or bill pay during that time.
The upgrade will standardize the company's online services. Bank of America's Washington and Idaho customers have continued on a stand-alone computer network since the early 1980s when the company bought SeaFirst Bank, according to one media report. This weekend's upgrade will integrate Washington and Idaho into the company's nationwide system. Improvements will include the ability for customers to view pending transactions online. They will also have more flexibility linking multiple accounts.
